In 1881 the first school was built of logs in Grimesthorpe.

Mr. Fawcett was the carpenter for this school.

In 1900 a school house bell was purchased and was used in the new school.

Around 1909 a new school was constructed out of cement by the Parkin's Brothers.

The school closed its doors for the last time in 1967.
